 | Fishing on the Wild Coast is excellent, with many different species
caught. Some of the well known species include: Black Steenbras,
Silver Steenbras, Blacktail, Galeon, Bronze Bream, Kob (Salmon), Pig Nose
Grunter, Spotted Grunter & Shad. |
 | May/June see the Shad (Elf) schooling and many a fine catch is to be seen.
Ideal spots such as Pulpit Rock & Silver Bay Proper are famous for
spooning and night fishing. |
 | During June/July the sardines run from Cape Town to Durban. Many big fish
are caught during the run. |
 | Silver Bay is aptly named for the large amount of Silver Steenbras caught
there. |
 | High Rocks always produce excellent catches, although the angler must be
nifty not to lose hook, line and sinker! |
 | The Hump is most famous for its big Black's and Silver's. A record 73lb
Black Steenbras was caught in 1963, but Lady Luck must be by your side to
land the big one! You will hear many tales of "the one that got
away", and likely you will be one of the story tellers too! |
 | Gungqe Channel is another well known landmark that always produces good
results, and is a wonderful spot for the children to don masks and snorkels. |
